The DOWNS CropVision® seed potato optical sorter is designed for sorting seed potato production.
It is used in two important phases of the seed potato process:
- After harvesting: the DOWNS CropVision® performs an initial sorting before storage. At this stage, a high throughput rate is required to keep pace with the potato harvester. Generally, clods, stones and large defects are removed automatically at this stage.
- Pre-shipment: As this operation requires a high degree of precision, it will be carried out at a lower throughput rate, enabling seed potato growers to go the extra mile to meet their customers’ expectations. Cracked, cut or diseased potatoes will be automatically eliminated by the optical sorter.
The operator has full control over the optical sorter settings at all times.
This solution removes clods, stones and cut potatoes at your convenience and according to your sorting requirements. It is also possible to couple the DOWNS CropVision® with a clod separator to obtain the most efficient work.
